Managing Quantity Surveyor – Housing / Construction

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Managing Quantity Surveyor to join a growing housing business. This is a hands-on, site-based role, leading a team of surveyors while providing effective commercial management and control of multiple projects. The role is varied and deadline-driven, so excellent organisational, prioritisation, and communication skills are essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the financial and contractual administration of projects, ensuring the survey team delivers high-quality work
  • Provide effective commercial management and control of projects in line with contract terms and statutory requirements
  • Maximise project margins while minimising risk exposure
  • Support the delivery of business objectives and targets
  • Lead, motivate, and develop a team of surveyors to ensure performance and quality standards

Skills, Qualifications, and Experience:

  • Proven experience in quantity surveying, ideally within the housebuilding or construction sector
  • Strong knowledge of financial reporting, contracts, and statutory requirements
  • Excellent analytical skills and practical problem-solving ability
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines
  • Customer-focused with a delivery-oriented mindset
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and other IT tools
  • Full driving licence
